Description
Dr. Maya Chen has spent three years recovering stolen antiquities for INTERPOL, but nothing prepared her for the message left at the scene of the British Museum heist. The thieves want her. They have the Scepter of Ashurbanipal, and they know about her father—an archaeologist who disappeared fifteen years ago, searching for a legendary artifact called the Sun Stone.
Following the trail her father left in his journals, Maya travels to Mosul, where she finds Khalid, the man who was with her father when he died. Together, they decode a map that leads to a temple buried in the desert, a place where the Sumerians hid something too powerful to be found.
But they are not alone. Helena Cross has been hunting the Sun Stone for thirty years. She killed Maya’s father. She killed the guards at the museum. And she will kill anyone who stands between her and the power that lies beneath the desert.
An action-packed adventure about family, sacrifice, and the truth that some things are worth dying for.
